The Engagement Tracking Report provides real-time visibility into deliverability, recipient engagement, link interactions, and delivery issues for your email broadcasts. Use this guide to understand your tracking dashboard and optimize future communications.
NOTE: Data Synchronization Delay
Data synchronization in the Engagement Tracking Report may take a short amount of time following a broadcast. Slight variance between live activity and reported totals can occur during active sending.
1. Navigating to the Report & Applying Filters
To view the results of a specific PowerMail or analyze engagement over a date range:
In the main navigation menu, go to Communication > PowerMail > click on desired issue and select the Results tab.
Set your desired date range using the Start Date and End Date fields.
Use the Batch drop-down menu to isolate a specific send batch (e.g., Batch 3) or leave it as (All batches) for aggregate metrics.
Click Update to apply your selected filters.
2. Understanding Your Metrics Dashboard
At the top of the report page, key delivery and engagement performance indicators are displayed across high-level summary cards:
| Metric | Definition | What It Means / Target |
|---|---|---|
| Sent | Total number of emails dispatched to the recipients. | Base sending count. |
| Delivered | Emails successfully accepted by receiving mail servers. | High percentages (>95%) indicate good list hygiene. |
| Unique Opened | Distinct contacts who opened the email at least once. | Best metric for understanding overall recipient interest. |
| Unique Clicked | Distinct contacts who clicked at least one link. | Best metric for content engagement and call-to-action success. |
| Did Not Open | Recipients who received but haven't opened the email. | Useful segment for follow-up/resend campaigns. |
| Total Opens / Clicks | Gross count of all opens and link clicks, including repeat actions. | Indicates repeat engagement by single users. |
| Hard Bounced | Permanent delivery failures due to invalid or non-existent emails. | Automatically suppressed from future mailings. |
| Soft Bounced | Temporary delivery failures such as full inboxes or server issues. | Retried automatically or flagged for review. |
| Unsubscribed | Recipients who opted out using the message's unsubscribe link. | Removed from future broadcasts automatically |
| Complaints | Recipients who marked the email as spam. | Crucial to keep near 0% to protect sender domain reputation. |
WARNING: Deliverability & Spam Complaints
Maintaining high deliverability is critical to your sending domain's reputation. Aim to keep Hard Bounced below 2% and Spam Complaints as close to 0.0% as possible. High complaint or bounce rates can result in email service providers flagging or blocking your future PowerMails.
3. Analyzing Engagement & Visual Graphs
The visual charts display post-send engagement trends over time to help you evaluate campaign momentum.
TIP: Identifying Peak Engagement Windows
Most email opens and clicks occur within the first 24 to 48 hours following distribution. Use time frame controls to isolate post-send activity and pinpoint when your audience is most active.

4. Top Link Performance (Sending Batch Summary)
The Sending Batch Summary section provides side-by-side performance comparisons across send batches, along with itemized click tracking for all links in your message.
NOTE: Aggregate vs. Batch Metrics
The Total column displays aggregate metrics across all batches within your selected date range, while individual batch columns (e.g., Batch 3) isolate metrics for a single send run.

6. Frequently Asked Questions
Why do Total Opens differ from Unique Opens?
Unique Opens measures how many individual contacts opened the email. Total Opens counts every instance an email was opened, including contacts who opened the message multiple times.
How are unsubscribes handled?
When a recipient clicks the unsubscribe link, their opt-out preference is recorded immediately, and they are automatically excluded from future PowerMail dispatches.
