Using the Contact Field Update tool, it is possible to update a limited number of fields for multiple member records at once.
This lesson will show you how to use the Contact Field Update tool to update the following fields:
- All custom user fields on the Personal page
- Title 1
- Title 2
- City
- Country
Notes:
This feature is only available to Databank Fundraising and Advocacy clients.
Flag fields can be update in bulk using the Tag Selected tool found in the Member menu.
If an update needs to be corrected by thedatabank Support staff, there is a minimum $50 charge associated with that service.
1. Use a search to select the contacts you want to update.
2. Go to Data Tools > Contact Field Update.
1. Choose which of the following fields you want to update:
Title 1
Title 2
City
Country
Any custom user field
2. Select the type of change you want to make:
Overwrite - replace the entire data value with a different value
Append - add a new data value to the existing one (only available if a field supports multiple selections)
Remove - remove a certain data value
Find and Replace - replace a string of data value with a different string (this will replace strings of data within the field)
Clear - erase all data values in a field
3. Click Preview Change
Verify the proposed changes and click Update Records.
Note: Please exercise caution when using the Member Field Update tool. If an update needs to be corrected by thedatabank Support staff, there is a minimum $50 charge associated with that service.
