Types of Advocacy Actions

Use your Advocacy software to specific types of calls to action to your constituents. This article explains the different types of Actions available to you.

1. Message Action

Message actions are used to generate emails from your constituents to targets of your choosing.

1.1 Message Action: Standard Type

The Standard Message Action uses a single message you've crafted to send an email to either a custom recipient, or recipients based upon the action takers address.

1.2 Message Action: Sender-Specific

The Sender-Specific Message Action lets you craft different messages based upon the group, or role, of the action taker. Each group can have it's own message and it's own recipient.


The groups can be based upon relationship to the issue, Educator, Parent, or Student, for example. Or they can be s based upon the action takers address, to contact a county commissioner for example.

1.3 Message Action: Paragraph Selector

The Paragraph Selector Message Action let's your constituents choose from among a number of paragraphs what to include in their message.

2. Phone Action

Phone Actions let you generate a phone script for your constituents to use when calling the designated recipients.

There are two flavors of Phone Actions, Activist Connected and Click-to-Call.

Activist Connected Phone Actions

Activist Connected Phone Actions provide the contact information of your recipients, they DO NOT place the call for your activists. Your activist will see the contact information for the selected recipients and a phone script they can use as talking points.

The Activist Connected Phone Action is the default setting for all new Phone Actions.

Click-to-Call Phone Actions

 

Click-to-Call Phone Actions will connect your activists directly with the recipients. To create a Click-to-Call Phone Action, one must opt-in when setting up the action. 

Click-to-Call actions allow you to prerecord a message for your activists which they will here before they are connected to the recipient. You can still provide a script for your activist and they will be connected directly to the phone number entered in the phone field.

Click-to-Call actions cost $.10 / minute.

All Phone Action can also Include survey questions to gather feedback from the call.

2.1 Phone Action: Standard

The Standard Phone Action provides a script and contact information to facilitate your constituents calling the designated recipients.

2.2 Phone Action: Caller-Specific

The Caller-Specific Phone Action let's you craft different messages based upon the group, or role, of the action taker. Each group can have it''s own message and it's own recipient.

3. Petition Action

The name of the Petition is stored as a contact note in your advocate's contact record.

4. Media Action

The Media Type Action sets local media outlets as the recipient of your action. The content of the message is designed in the same way as a Standard Message Type Action, only the recipient is generated from news outlets based upon your action takers address.
