SUMMARY OF SECTIONS
Actions - This section is where you will setup and control your actions, letters, emails, faxes, phone campaigns and petitions* on your advocacy site. Before getting started, it is strongly recommended that you visit the best practices section. The landing page for the Actions section displays the status of current actions.
Bills - This tool allows you to display legislation of interest in your advocacy site. You can add comments and indicate your position on the bill. You can also view recent changes to a bill in your list. You can indicate that you want Bills displayed on your advocacy site there as well. Federal and State Bills are dynamic and are loaded into the system.
Votes - This tool allows you to display votes of interest in your advocacy site. You can add votes with comments and indicate your position on the vote. You can indicate that you want Votes displayed on your advocacy site there as well.
Web Stickers - This section allows you to select default and custom web stickers to post on your advocacy site. This enables advocates and partner organizations to place web stickers on their sites to direct more attention to your site. You can also create web stickers using images that you import.
Polls - This section allows you to create polls or surveys and insert them into your web site. Polls are a great way to draw traffic to your advocacy site. They serve two purposes. First, they allow you to survey visitors of any web page that contains the poll. It may be placed on multiple web pages. Second, they allow you to direct anyone who wishes to vote or see the results of the poll to your advocacy site.
Sign Up Forms - This tool allows you to turn on and create a sign up form for new advocates. The fields that will return data to your databank are: Title/Prefix, Name, Full Address, Email, Phone Number and Fax. If you are creating custom fields, this data will NOT return to your databank account.
Options - This is the administrative section for controlling site-wide options for your advocacy site. You can control the sections displayed, features used, main page module options, site styles and the flow for your actions. It is strongly recommended that you visit this section to see all of the options available to you.
My Site - This takes you to your CongressWeb advocacy site.
*Note: Your databank account also has the ability to create petitions. Use the databank form if it is important to capture this information in your databank and if you need the ability to embed it in other sites or places. If you use The Soft Edge petition form, the data that will be returned to your database is and ONLY is: Name, Address, Email, Phone, Fax. If you are creating custom fields, this data will NOT be pulled into your Databank.
