Insert Special Character
Use this tool to insert characters that are not easily typed from the keyboard. The characters available will depend on the font that is in effect at the cursor location.
To add a character, simply click the character you want to add. If you have text selected, the character will replace the selected text.
Unlike most word processing programs, some thought has gone into arranging the order in which the characters are displayed in this editor, so you don't have to hunt so hard to find the one you want.
The first two rows are all characters that aren't on the English keyboard. An attempt has been made to order them so that the most likely character to be used, such as copyright and trademark symbols, bullets, smart quotes, currency symbols, etc., are displayed first. The standard keyboard characters begin on the third row and end toward the end of the 7th row. They are followed by a few non-typable characters that are less likely to be used, and then the table finishes with characters used in the alphabets of European and South American languages.
When your mouse is over a character, a larger version of it displays in a preview at the upper right of the character table.

Pressing Enter twice at the end of a bullet ends the list. If you select text that is already in a bulleted list and then click this button, the bulleting is removed.
