Soft credits are a way of recognizing a person or organization's ability to bring value to your mission, even when they don't directly give you money. In a donation form, a donor can indicate whom it was that influenced their decision to donate.
1. Choose a list of people who can get soft credit from this form's donations.* A list is preferred over asking the donor to type in a name, because typing can introduce misspellings, typos, or inconsistencies (e.g., "Bob" vs. "Robert").
2. Fill out a prompt for the soft credit option.
3. Select the type of soft credit to create. Soft credit types categorize why the member is getting credit for the donation.
*To create a soft credit member list, submit a support ticket with the member names and IDs.
