Predictive Duplicate Searching

As a client of thedatabank, I would like to have the system check for duplicates when I am entering a new record and asking me to confirm the record creation so that I do not inadvertently create new records.

I understand that searching every field of every record could become a drain on server resources, but even a searching against email would be very useful.
