Mobile giving, list building via mobile phones and text
CompletedIf you're interested in using mobile phones for organizing or fundraising, please comment here, and help guide our development/partnerships in this area. Some of the ways you can use mobile phones:
- Blast text messaging, already available free in the Databank, for meeting reminders, breaking news, etc.
- List building, text a short code to sign up either for text messages or email messages.
- Giving $5 or $10 by texting a code and having the amount charged to your mobile phone bill.
- Giving other amounts by texting a code, then getting a call back or patch through to collect credit card or EFT info.
This stuff used to be cost prohibitive, but some less expensive providers are emerging, and there are growing possibilities for data integration.

We now can implement responsive (mobile and table friendly) forms in beta. If you're interested in adding this functionality to your databank forms, please send a support request to be added as a beta tester.
We do not have plans to add giving via short code--this is cost prohibitive to our clients and thedatabank.

It would be great to be able to have our supporters give $5 or $10 by texting a code and having the amount charged to their mobile phone bills! This would be an accessible and affordable way that low- and moderate-income individuals can support our organization. Please develop this new capability through Databank.

We would love to have the forms and action alert tool be mobile friendly when someone opens them on their phone.
