User Interface Updates : Second Installment to Include REMOVE Feature on Search Results Screen

After the successful launch of the new look for The Databank’s menu earlier this year, we launched the second installment of user interface updates on March 14, 2010. We’ve chosen to roll out these updates as installments, rather than waiting until the entire site is completed, to allow you to see the updated look (including some font and color changes) and get your hands on some helpful new features as soon as possible. This second installment of updates are visible on the Welcome, Search, Search Result, and Saved Search pages.

 

On the Welcome screen you will see:

  • EZ-Query has been added to the bottom for convenience.

On all of the Search pages, you will see:

  • New placements for the Find and Reset buttons

On the Search Results page, you will see:

  • Arrow icons replace PREV/NEXT links
  • First page and last page short cuts at the top of the screen
  • A new  Remove button for easy removal of a member from your search selection
  • A new Edit button on the far left to edit a member’s record

On the Saved Search Step List page, you will see:

  • New Run Button that allows you to run a single step of the search
  • New Edit button that allows you to edit that step of the save d search

Databank User Interface to be improved throughout 2010

UI enhancements are being rolled out in installments.  Here is a full list of the completed and planned projects, presented in the order we intend to complete them:

  • Menu – convert from plain text to icons/buttons (complete) 
  • Search – improve layout and styles, add Remove feature to search results (complete)
  • Member Record – improve layout and styles for all pages within member record, add some additional features such as show/hide (in development)
  • Selection Menu Items – overhaul presentation of these items appearing under the Selection menu: Roster, Basic Email, Text Message, Map, Download, Vcard, Tag, and Labels. (on deck)
  • PowerMail – update layout and styles for the PowerMail interface, add PowerMail summary report.
  • Fundraising Module – update remaining components of Fundraising Module, such as Reports.
  • Alerts – update layout and styles for the Advocacy Module, including all items under the Alert menu.
  • Meetings – update layout and styles for components of the Meetings & Events Module.
  • Edit Menu Items -  update remaining items under the Edit menu, with the e xception of Bundle (part of Advanced Data Entry project).
  • Advanced Data Entry – update layout and styles for bulk data entry and bulk member upload tools.
  • Setup Menu Items – update all remaining items appearing in the setup menu, including User setup.
  • Help – update layout and styles for Support Request and other items under the Help menu.
  • Master Style Change – Roll out a brand new theme, with sleek new colors and fonts.

 

User guides and tutorials will be updated on an ongoing basis, but will not be perfectly in sync with the look of the user interface during this transition time.  We will keep clients updated using our support forum (Announcements) and monthly email newsletter, and we will offer special training/orientation sessions as appropriate.  Please use the Support Request and online support center for help with any new features.

Very nice changes.

I especially like the red "Remove" button from look up feature.
