Here is an example of a petition: http://humd.e-actionmax.com/takeaction.asp?aaid=91

A: The most common way to create a petition is to set up an action alert that targets a designated email at your organization. Then, when you need to hand the petition in, you can either print a list from your databank, or you can print the emails you’ve received and hand a stack to the decision-maker.

To assign the target of an Action Alert do the following:

If you have already setup the email address you want to use as a Target skip to step 'B

A: From the 'Alert' drop down choose 'Targets'

Select 'New Target'

Fill in the form with the appropriate information

Select 'Save Target' from the bottom

B: After selecting the Action Alert from Issues, or creating a new Alert, select 'Targets' below the title of the Alert.

Find the target by its Name, State, or Type, then select the 'To' button next to the target

Once the Target is added it will appear above and your target is now set.

Now you can edit the Alert as usual and publish it. All responses to the Alert will get sent to the target you made.
